Choosing the right Colour Printing For Your Promotional Products
Choosing the wrong logo colour or item colour is one of the most common mistakes in the supply of promotional products, such as printing a logo on a background colour which does not suit or enhance the logo or design you have chosen. Often a dark colour is printed on a dark background with poor results.
This problem is occasionally seen when printing promotional apparel and other promotional products. There is such a wide range of colours and styles of apparel available, that clients must be very careful in choosing both the colour of the apparel and the position in which your logo will appear on the apparel so that the logo is not lost. It is always advisable when printing or embroidering promotional garments to discuss the project in advance with promotional apparel supplier, whose experience with the apparel and the print or embroidery process will likely provide you with useful information and ensure you are happy with the final promotional products order.
When it comes to pad printing and laser engraving, the issue of making your logo/design stand out is a little easier. With laser engraving it is generally possible to achieve a contrast finish from the background colour purely by the process of the engraving which can oxidisie or modify the surface of the material in question. For example with apparel you know what the colour is, but with laser engraving the underlying colour can be deceiving, so you can choose to enhance the engraving option.
Always make sure when you choose an item, that it will compliment and enhance your logo and company message, if this is the requirements that you are looking for. Embroidery
Embroidery is one method of decorating promotional garments/caps. Trend Promotions believes embroidery is a fantastic way to brand Caps, Polo Shirts, Business Shirts, Jumpers, Jackets, Bags, Towels, Scarves. Embroidery costs are based on the number of stitches in your logo/design, stitches increase with the complexity and size, so your design can use as many different colours as you like without incurring additional costs.
Screen Print
Screen printing is a process where ink is transferred using a squeegee to force ink through a porous screen, such as nylon, onto the surface to be decorated. A stencil is used to block out the negative or non-printing areas of the screen. Each colour needs to have a screen made, and each colour needs to be applied separately. Therefore we need to be able to individually separate each colour from your design, so graduated colours, shading etc will often not represent accurately with this process. Trend Promotions suggests screen printing is best on T-Shirts, Singlets, jackets, bags. Screen Printing cost is based on the amount of colours used and how many garments are being printed.
Laser Engraving
Trend Promotions offer a fantastic finish on metal pens and many other products which will last the test of time. Laser engraving can never be removed unlike ink printing. Laser Engraving is the method of placing your logo onto desired products by burning away a coating on the material. This is an fantastic way of promoting your logo, brand or gift in a subtle way.
Laser technology including YAG laser, Fiber laser, and CO2 laser enable us to engrave and cut through a lot of different materials.
This is a process of cutting shallow lines into metal with a sharp engraver, reproducing your artwork, usually onto Metal and Wooden products. Engraving is a permanent decoration method as it involves cutting away the material, it can not be scratched off. Some painted items will leave a contrast engrave, but usually it is subtle finish. Engraving is the best decoration solution for any metal items, such as pens, key rings, desk clocks, wooden pens, wooden desk accessories. Trend Promotions also offers engraving leather compendiums to achieve a really beautiful unique resolute. The engraving is cost is subject to the quantity.
Pad Printing

Pad printing is a method of imprinting that uses a silicone pad to lift the colour and design off of a plate and then transfer it on to the surface of the item to be imprinted. This is used for printing across relatively small areas, usually on plastic items, such as pens and when the area to be printed is difficult to get at or is contoured. Our Pad Printing ink coverage is excellent. It is done one colour at a time, but registration between colours is good enough to allow for a four-color process printing. At Trend Promotions, Pad Printing is most often used on promotional pens, promotional stress toys, promotional rulers, promotional mints, calculators and other small plastic products. At Trend Promotions, Pad printing costs are subject to the number of colours and the quantity.
Plastisol Transfers
With Plastisol Transfers your logo/design is printed with a plastisol ink, but instead of printing it directly onto the garment, it is printed onto a special paper. This form of decoration is highly used in the promotional markeing industry. The paper is then passed through a conveyer dryer where the ink is heated until it has gelled just enough, then the transfer is carefully applied to a garment/item, by placing the tshirt/stubby holder in a heat transfer press, the transfer is then placed on top of the item with the ink side down and the press is then closed. With heat and pressure applied by the press, this will force the ink into the garment and finish curing it. When the press is opened and the paper is removed from the tshirt and the design remains behind. Trend Promotions believes this process is ideal for multi-coloured print designs and also good for lower quantities. It is best on T-Shirts, Singlets, Jackets, bags, stubby holders etc. At Trend Promotions the Plastisol Transfer costs are subject to the size of the transfer, the number of colours and the quantiy required.
Custom Badging
With Custom Badging we are able to create a metal or PVC badge from your logo and attach to your promotional item. Metal badges are riveted on while PVC are sewn on. This makes it an innovative way to display your brand/logo to your customers or clients. Custom badging is a fantastic decoration method to create a premium promotional product. Trend Promotions can customize the badge to your logo/design and you can choose from a variety of styles to suit. Badges can be created to almost any shape. Most Custom Badges are best used on Promotional Caps and Bags. Custom Badging is subject to size, quantity and the complexity of logo.
Blind Embossing
Blind embossing or stamping a metal block is made in the image that you require and this heated up then pressed onto your item to be decorated. The heat and the pressure of the machine emboss or stamp the logo into the surface of the product. It leaves an impression in the surface of the item without colour. At Trend Promotions we believe Blind Embossing is best used on leather items like compendiums, diaries, and wallets. Trend Promotions are also able to emboss individual names for personalising your special leather items, making it a great format for promotions to your favourite clients. Blind Embossing costs are subject to the size of your design and your quantity.
Foil Stamping
Hot foil stamping is a specialised printing process. The “printing” is done using very thin metallic gold or silver foil with a special adhesive backing. A metal block is made in the image that you want to foil and this is placed in one of our foil stamping machines that heat it up. The heat and the pressure of the machine make the foil bond with the item being stamped. An image that’s been foil stamped looks shiny, glossy and smooth. Foil stamping requires no drying time and will not rub off under normal use conditions. At Trend Promotions we believe Foil Stamping is best used on leather items like compendiums, diaries, wallets and travel wallets. We are also able to stamp individual names for personalising your special leather items, making it a great format for promotions to your favourite clients. Foil Stamping costs are subject to the size of your design and the quantity.
Epoxy Domes
The 3-D doming process enhances, magnifies and gives depth of colour to your printed image and protects the print from scratching, abrasion and impact. Epoxy dome badges have a crystal clear lens coating that will not discolour or deteriorate with age, making them perfect for promotional marketing longevity. Epoxy domes come with a peel and stick backing that can be applied to a smooth, flat, clean surface. Epoxy domes are printed 1 colour to full colour on a wide variety of self adhesive substrates from white to metallic films like gold and silver. At Trend Promotions we believe Epoxy domes are best used for Name Badges, Presentation Cases, Gift Boxes and Key Rings. Epoxy dome costs are subject to the size, shape and quantity.
